Tatiana Liani has studied German Literature (BA) and Comparative Literature and Translation Studies (MA) at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Freie Universität Berlin and holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from AUTh (Dissertation title: “The Myth of Vienna. Aspects of Vienna (1880-1938) in autobiographies”, I.KY. scholarship). She held various teaching positions at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Western Macedonia and has been teaching at the School of Drama (AUTh) since 2013.

Her research interests and publications lie in the area of German culture and its reception in Greece, on the cultural image of the Jew in theatre, on (women’s) autobiographies and memory studies and on translation history and practice.  She has also translated and edited numerous German books and plays (Schnitzler, Lessing, Zweig, Rilke, Kokoschka, Erpenbeck, Brecht) into Greek.

Since 2003 she is the editor of the “German Literature Series” at Roes Publishing House.
