Venice Open Stage (VOS) is an international festival of theatre schools, which began in 2012. It takes place every summer, in the open air theatre which is set up at Campo Sebastiano in Venice, with the support of IUAV (https://www.iuav.it/it)
The collaboration of the School of Drama, AUTH, with the VOS Festival began in 2015.

Venice Open Stage 2024
The School of Drama participated in the 12th Venice Open Stage (VOS) with the project HOMESICKNESS BLUES under the supervision of Kostas Vomvolos (Dall’Aglio Arena, Campazzo San Sebastiano, Venice, 8 & 9 July 2024).

The School of Drama participated in the 11th Venice Open Stage (VOS) with the diploma project Greek Summer (is a state of mind) (Gigi Dall’Aglio Arena, Campazzo San Sebastiano, Venice, 4 & 5 July 2023).

Venice Open Stage 2019
In 2019, like every year since 2015, the AUTH School of Drama participated in VOS with a student performance. This year Those in the Tomb; Excerpts From the Book of War, based on the novel by Stratis Myrivilis Life in the Tomb, was presented on the Campo San Sebastiano Stage (10 & 11 July, Dorsoduro, Venice).
Venice Open Stage 2018
In 2018, the AUTH School of Drama participated in VOS with the performance Ασθμαίνω (Asthmeno=Gasping), a dance theatre production, resulted from Katerina’s Stavrou Final Year Project, and a four-day scenography workshop (28 June-1 July), called Exotic Birds, and taught by AUTH School of Drama teaching team.
Venice Open Stage 2017
In VOS 2017, the School of Drama performed a soirée under the title To Da or Not to Da, to celebrate Dada’s centenary. The performance followed the abstract form of a dadaist variety evening and consisted of sound and tonal poems, manifestoes, chansons, sound music, dance, and scenes from short plays in various languages.
Venice Open Stage 2016
In 2016, the School of Drama participated in VOS with the performance ICON, a diploma Project in Scenography of Dido Gogou, Eleni Kanakidou and Sonia Samartzidou. The project was supervised by Apostolos Vettas and Lila Karakosta.
Venice Open Stage 2015
In VOS 2015, the School of Drama participated with the performance Water. Greek Mythology (Medusa, Pegasus, Andromeda, Perseus) is interwoven with ancient drama, in a visual narrative-journey which begins and ends with the question of the creation of the world of water.
