Beyond theatre performances, another important activity of the School relates to the creation of educational projects. Exploiting the School’s educational and research activity, these projects are the result of the collaboration of the teaching staff and students with the city’s cultural institutions, and they are addressed to pupils and educators.

Το Τμήμα Θεάτρου της Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών, Α.Π.Θ. παρουσίασε την παράσταση «Κοίτα με! Συνάντηση με τους πρόσφυγες του 1922 στη Νέα Αρετσού», σε συνεργασία με τον Δήμο Καλαμαριάς, στο πλαίσιο των Εκδηλώσεων Μνήμης και Ελπίδας για τα 100 χρόνια από τη Μικρασιατική Καταστροφή που οργάνωσε ο Δήμος.
Άβρα Αυδή και Μελίνα Χατζηγεωργίου, Όταν ο δάσκαλος μπαίνει σε ρόλο
Το βιβλίο της Άβρας Αυδή και της Μελίνας Χατζηγεωργίου Όταν ο δάσκαλος μπαίνει σε ρόλο: 50 προτάσεις για θεατρικά εργαστήρια με Δάσκαλο σε Ρόλο, Μεταίχμιο, Αθήνα 2018, προέκυψε μέσα από τη διδασκαλία των μαθημάτων Δραματοποίηση και Το θέατρο στο σχολείο κατά την περίοδο 2007-2016. Περιλαμβάνει τα καλύτερα σχέδια μαθημάτων με Δάσκαλο σε Ρόλο τα οποία σχεδίασαν και εφάρμοσαν με επιτυχία οι φοιτητές και οι φοιτήτριες του Τμήματος Θεάτρου σε σχολεία της πρωτοβάθμιας και της δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης.
City Voices
During the acad. years 2012-13 and 2013-14, the School of Drama, in collaboration with Thessaloniki Municipality, organized the educational program Voices of the City – Historic walks, along with theatrical action, which was addressed to secondary education pupils. This program has been part of the festivities for the 100year since the liberation of our city, in a theatrical action which would enable pupils to approach the City’s history, to explore terms, such as city and active citizen, to care for the public interest, to get inspiration, to create, to love their city. Educators Avra Avdi and Melina Hadjigheorghiou received for this project the Excellency Award, in the “Link with Society’ category, of AUTH.
“Dreams…”
On June 22nd , 2011, LThRT, in collaboration with the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, presented the theatrical performance titled “Dreams…”, in the context of the European Program “Art as a channel of incorporation among emigrants”.
The Young Meet Shakespeare
An educational project on human rights, based on Shakespeare’s plays.
DEMODOROS: A Day at the Ancient Theatre
An original educational CD-ROM on Ancient Greek Theatre, with cartoons and interactive games. Demodoros has been created as part of the program “MIMΕSIS (IMITATION) : Theatre between Myth and Drama”, organized by the Foundation “Melina Merkouri” in collaboration of the School of Drama and institutions from Greece and abroad. The project was financed by EU program CONNECT.
