An important part of the research activity of the members of the School of Drama is taken up by funded research projects. To date, eight such projects have been completed or are in progress:

- Plays in 19th cent. Pres. Postdoctoral Researcher: Vasiliki Papanikolaou. Supervisor: Andreas Dimitriadis (Excellence Scholarships Postdoctoral Researcher)
- Imprints of Tradition in Greek theatre from the Beginning of the 1870’s up to the Balkan Wars. Research coordinator: Konstantina Ritsatou (Research Committee, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki)
- ‘Communal Hellenism’ and Ancient Drama Performances from the Metapolitefsi to the ‘New’ Balkans (1975-1995). Principal investigator: Eleni Papazoglou (Operational Program “Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014-2020)
