Research Coordinator: Andreas Dimitriadis
The aim of the project is to collect and digitize all information found in newspapers and magazines of Thessaloniki related to the city’s theatrical activity, from 1922 to 1961. All data is organized in an electronic database in order to create a calendar of performances, as complete as possible.
So far, two research projects have been completed, financed by two separate research funds:
1. Collection and digitization of data from 1922 to 1940
The project was funded by the program School of Drama: Reform of the Undergraduate Program of Studies (Action 2.2.2 Action Category 2.2.2.a “Undergraduate Programs.” Financing: 75% by the European Social Fund through the EPEAEK II and 25 % by national funds).
Over 18,000 entries have been collected. Part of these appear in the online database.
2. Researching, indexing and digitalizing theatrical information in Makedonia newspaper from 01/01/1950 to 12/31/1959
