Professor of Acting
Professor Naziris holds a B.A. in Law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Initially preparing for a career in the diplomatic service, Professor Naziris attended the summer sessions of the Hague School of International Law during the 1970s, while at the same time studying acting at the Thessaloniki State Conservatory, and modern languages at the British Council, the Goethe Institut, the Institut Francais, the Institute for the Study of Balkan Languages (Idryma Meleton Chersonissou tou Aimou) and other places. He joined the State Theatre of Northern Greece in 1973, as a professional actor. He has also been a core-member of the experimental stage-group ‘Techni’ since its inception in 1979, and a regular collaborator of the ‘Municipal Theatre of Larissa’, with a repertoire of over 60 different performances. He has starred in six cinematic productions and has been a regular radio producer and broadcaster in the meantime. Dimitris Naziris is also an accomplished translator of Harold Pinter and other 20th century playwrights into Greek. Professor Naziris teaches acting at our Department since 2001.
