Professor of Acting
Born in Thessaloniki, she graduated from the Drama School of the National Theatre of Northern Greece (1978) and the French Language and Literature Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1981). She worked for a year (1978) in the National Theatre of Northern Greece, and right after that, in 1979, she became one of the founders of the theatre company “Peiramatiki Skini tis Technis”.
She has performed numerous parts of classical and contemporary repertoire, in more than 80 plays. Among them: Euripides: Ion (Creusa), Aristophanes: The Ecclesiazusae (First Old Woman), Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Titania, Puck), Twelfth Night (Viola), Marivaux: La Dispute (Egle), Goldoni: La Trilogia della Villeggiatura (Giacinta), Ibsen: Hedda Gabler (Hedda), Ghosts (Mrs. Alving), Checkov: Uncle Vanya (Sonya), Three Sisters (Masha), The Seagull (Arkadina), Brecht: The Caucasian chalk circle (Grusha), Mother courage (Canteen Anna), Beckett: Waiting for Godot (Pozzo), Georges Feydeau: Le Dindon (Lucienne), Eric Rohmer: Le Trio en mi bemol (Adele), Catherine Anne: Tita-Lou (Tita), Timberlake Wertenbaker: Our Country’s Good (Liz Morden), Brian Friel: Dancing at Lugnasha (Kate), Frank McGuinness, Factory Girls (Helen), Greta Garbo Came to Donegal (Greta Garbo), Michael Frayn: Noises off (Dotty Otley), Ingmar Bergman: After the Rehearsal (Rakel), Joel Pommerat: Les Marchands (The Woman), Carole Frechette: La petite chambre en haut de l’escalier (Mother).
Also she has performed in many plays of greek contemporary playwrights (Iakovos Kambanellis, Loula Anagnostaki, Marios Pontikas, Dimitris Kehaidis-Eleni Xaviara, Akis Dimou, Sakis Serefas, etc.)
In 2000, she directed Peter Tourini’s Josef und Maria.
She has worked with many directors such as: Nikos Hourmouziadis, Colin Harris, Nikos Charalambous, Nikos Armaos, Nikos Politis, Ersi Vasilikioti, Pepi Ikonomopoulou, Nikiforos Papandreou, Glikeria Kalaitzi, Petros Zivanos, Andreas Voutsinas, Nick Filippou, Nikos Chatzipapas, Sotiris Chatzakis, Yannis Moschos, Yannis Leondaris, Christina Chatzivasileiou.
She has translated several plays of contemporary writers: Yukio Mishima, Charlotte Keatley, Conor McPherson, Loleh Bellon.
She has taught Drama Education in the Department of Librarianship in the Technological and Educational Institute, and Acting in the Drama School of the National Theatre of Northern Greece.
She has been teaching Acting in the Drama Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, since 1997.
