Painter and Scenographer. She has been Professor of Stage and Costume Design in the Theatre Department from 1995, and from 1989-1995 Director of the Visual Arts Department at the School of Architecture of the same University. In1988 she was a visiting Professor at the St. Martins School of Art and Design, London.
She has written books and published articles on Art Criticism, Theory of Art and Art Education, including: ‘Drawing, Theory and Practice”, Lefakis, his Life and Work”, ‘Interpreting Works of Art Through Their Use of Space”, ‘Stage Design as a Visual Art,’ ‘Alcestis, a Neo-Baroque Visual Approach”, ‘Visual Power in the Opera, and its Traps”, ‘Theatrical Visual Arts and Visual Theatre ‘What is Scenography’, translation and introductory article to the book of Prof. Pamela Howard, et al. Her Book “The Costume” is to be published soon.
Manoledaki has had an extensive career as a painter with over 50 solo and group exhibitions in Europe and the USA, in private Galleries, Museums and University Art Departments and as a representative of Greece in International Cultural Exchange Events. Her paintings can be found in Museums and private collections in various countries in Europe and the USA
Over the last 35 years Manoledaki is working mainly as a Scenographer and Costume Designer. She has created Sets and Costumes for about 150 productions of Theatre, Opera and Ballet around Greece and abroad. She has been touring as a Stage and Costume Designer in Europe and Japan, and participated in International Theatre Festivals around Europe. She was the Designer of the film “One Day Crossing” by Joan Stein and Christina Lazaridi (Oscar Nomination 2001) Her work in Painting and Scenography has been published and analysed in numerous Art Magazines, Dictionaries and Books on Theatre and Modern Art, and is included in the World Scenography Dictionary 1990-2005 (ed.OISTAT)
Her sets and Costumes have been exhibited in Museums and Art Galleries in Greece and abroad She received honorary awards by the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, the State Theatre of Northern Greece, and she was nominated for the National Scenography Award.
Manoledaki has been member of National and International Juries for various Visual Arts and Stage Design Competitions, for the International Film Festival of Thessaloniki, the Biennale of Mediterranean Youth, and he National Merit Awards for the Cinema.
From 1974 and for many years member of the board of Directors of the State Theatre of Northern Greece and from 1997 to 2005 President of the Board of Directors of the State Opera of Thessaloniki.
