Born in Athens in 1953, Victor Arditti studied Economics at the University of Athens and Theatre at the University of Paris with Bernard Dort and Georges Banu. He was trained with the directors Antoine Vitez and Yorghos Sevastikoglou. In 1988, he was one of the founders of the City Theatre of Patras which he co-directed for a year. In 1992, he got involved in the founding of the alternative cultural centre “Fournos” in Athens and in 1997 he started the “Theatro tou Logou”, an independent company based in Athens. From 2001 to 2004, he was Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Northern Greece. In 2007-2013 he was Head of the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece. Besides, he taught at the Drama Department of the University of Patras. As a director he has worked mainly in the public theatres of Greece, but also at the Teatro Stabile of Turin, staging more than forty classical and contemporary plays.
