Studies in the School of Drama comprise 10 semesters (2 semesters per year).
To graduate from the School of Drama, students have to attend and successfully complete 58 courses and seminars and submit a diploma thesis which consists of (a) a written dissertation, or a theatre production, or a stage design project, depending on the major they have chosen and (b) deliver a 45 minute lecture on a subject of their choice.
The curriculum is divided in two phases. During the first two years of study, students have to pass a number of Core courses, related to the historical and theoretical study of theatre, dramaturgy and performance theory. The Theatre in Education programme is offered in the third and fourth year of studies. In addition, there is a foreign language requirement.
In the next phase, students work towards specializing in one of four Majors:
(a) Drama and Performance Analysis
(b) Acting
(c) Scenography and Costume Design
(d) Theatre Directing
